Virtual Cycling a Huge Success for Salisbury Hospice

VIRTUAL My Prudential Ride Salisbury was a huge success raising over £7,000 for Salisbury Hospice.

Over the past two weekends, Salisbury Hospice Charity supporters took to the roads as part of the first-ever virtual edition of the My Prudential Ride London and have raised over £7000 for Salisbury Hospice.

Salisbury Hospice Charity, like many other charities, has been hugely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic as fundraising events have been either postponed or cancelled.

This virtual cycle challenge offered Salisbury Hospice Charity supporters, of all ages and abilities, the opportunity to take part in a fantastic challenge, either as part of a team or as individuals to raise crucial funds for the Hospice, whilst saf ely abiding to Government guidelines.

Abi Blake, Event Fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity “We are truly overwhelmed with the incredible response we received for this cycle challenge. Over 40 cyclists signed up, all taking on different routes and distances. Teams from Nationwide, Sarum PR, The Winchester Gate Pub, Fat Blokes and Birds on Bikes Cycle Team and many individuals tackled distances from 19 miles all the way up to 100 miles. Routes took in scenic views from across Salisbury, The New Forest, Wyle Valley, to Stonehenge. We even had cyclists on tandems in fancy dress – you cannot get better than that!” “In recent months, as we find ourselves in these strange and uncertain times, we are continuously amazed by our community of supporters and the lengths they’ll go to support the Hospice by taking part in these virtual events.”
