New skate ramp installed at Bishopdown Recreation Ground

A brand new skate ramp is now open for use at Bishopdown Recreation Ground.

Salisbury City Council has worked hard over the past month to install the new facility with the help of Clark and Kent Contractors who are one of the top manufacturers of concrete skate ramps in the country.

The new ramp is the classic halfpipe design suitable for beginners to advanced skaters. On the side of the ramp is a graduated transition perfect for skaters who are new to ramp riding. For the more advanced skater, there’s an optional high extension section where more speed can be gained for bigger tricks.

The facility is designed to blend in with the green space with grass banks formed at either end to help make the structure more natural and pleasing to the eye.

The old skate ramp was enjoyed by local skaters for over 10 years and was replaced due to its general wear and tear.

The Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr John Walsh said, “What a fantastic effort by the Parks Team and Clark and Kent Contractors for removing the old skate ramp and installing a new one in the period of just one month. The facility will continue to be a great space for the local community to socialise and exercise for many more years to come”.
