Traffic chaos hit central Salisbury this morning as work began at several locations on the roads network.
The most significant of these is work on the A338 at Britford, which is closed completely for three weeks.
This was also the first morning back for hundreds of school children – and an increased amount of activity from their parents.
The effect was to bring roads chaos and increased vehicle pollution for several hours this morning, as you can see from our pictures.
The Churchill Way dual carriageway was static for over an hour. Emergency vehicles had trouble getting through.
This will continue for at least three weeks. Work is due to finish at Britford on 25th September.
