Do you know of an older Salisbury resident that would enjoy the delivery of afternoon tea to their front door?
There is still time to book for Silver Sunday tea on 4th October. In previous years Silver Salisbury has organised a number of events to celebrate International Older People’s day including delicious home-baked cakes. Due to the current unprecedented circumstances and being unable to hold meetings of more than a few people, the Silver Salisbury Team decided to take afternoon tea to people who may have otherwise been our guests.
Were you part of a local street scheme during lockdown, a WhatsApp or Facebook group supporting neighbours who were isolating or shielding? Do you know of neighbours who, after those long months of lockdown, are still finding it difficult to get out and about again?
In fact, do you know any older person in Salisbury, for whom receiving an unexpected treat of afternoon tea delivered to their doorstep would make a real difference in a gloomy week? If you know of any one (or two or three) who fit this scenario in your local area, please email Irene Kohler, Salisbury Older People’s Champion on firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange for Silver Sunday teas to be delivered.
