Salisbury 6th Form College to hold Virtual Open Evenings

This week S6C (Salisbury 6th Form College) will be holding their first-ever online Open Evenings.

Principal, Simon Firth, says ‘We will be holding a series of events to give you a flavour of what S6C has to offer and what student life is like at the College. We have devoted one evening to each of our Faculties to give the opportunity to sample as many subjects as possible’

Students will be able to talk to teachers and students from the Creative Faculty from 5-7 pm on Tuesday 22nd September through live online Google Meet video sessions. The STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Faculty evening will be held on Wednesday 23rd September 5-7 pm and the Humanities Faculty evening will run on Thursday 24th September 5-7 pm.

Booking is essential as the links to the live online sessions will only be sent to those who have completed the short booking form which can be found on S6C’s website along with programmes for each evening:

There will be an opportunity to hear from the Principal who will be answering questions from those who have booked to attend. Students can also hear from the SENDCo and the Pastoral Lead, Rebecca Anderson, who will be taking questions about the LifeSkills programme and how tutoring works. Rebecca will also introduce the Aspire to Excellence Programme which has been designed to develop excellent study habits, provide extension material, super curricular engagement, debating and higher-level thinking skills, and help students gain early insights into job markets, higher education pathways and how to prepare for a competitive degree, apprenticeship and employment applications. Current students will also be present in the online sessions to give prospective students an insight into College life.
