Salisbury Muslim Association Chair Passes Away

At 9 pm on Thursday 17th September 2020, Muhammad Rashid Ullah passed away at home in his sleep with his family around him.

Rashid was 56 years of age and grew up in Bangladesh, then spent the last 35 living just off Stratford Road in Salisbury but sadly lost a long battle with Cancer.

He was a very well know successful businessman in the Amesbury area and had the Indian takeaway Amesbury Spice since 2008, as well as being a popular Salisbury Taxi driver for the last 12 years. He could normally be found around the Railway Station Taxi rank helping commuters safely get home.

Rashid was voted in as the Chairman of the Muslim Association of Salisbury at the Wilton Road Mosque, and has held this role for the past 8 years, and was very well respected by many from all faiths and religions.

The funeral took place the following day, and Rashid was laid to rest at the new Avenue Cemetery near St Peters Place, Salisbury.

Rashid leaves behind a beloved wife, three sons and one daughter.
