Laverstock followed up Saturday’s home win in ruthless fashion beating Whitchurch United 7-1 at The Dell.
With the ground staff working wonders once again to get the pitch into a playable condition, yet again Lavvy were caught cold immediately. A long ball was sent into the box, Roberts challenged the Whitchurch forward to the ball and in the aftermath was adjudged to have fouled the big striker. Randall stepped up to convert the spot-kick inside 2mins.
It seemed to be a case of deja vu as right away Laverstock went in search of an immediate equaliser but were thwarted by the visitors deep defending.
Despite many half chances the home side were playing at a high tempo and making inroads, eventually, the equaliser came on 28. Wakeford burst forward and sent his cross in, the keeper spilled his catch and Dom Jackson was on hand to poke the ball home.
The in the space of 7 minutes the game looked up for the visitors. First, on 29, Whitchurch’s forward Nick Beattie saw red for dissent, then Jake Rawkins scored with another of his delicious free kicks on 32 before Russ Jones tucked away another Wakeford assist on 36, half time couldn’t come quick enough for the Jam Boys.
The 2nd half was a case of damage limitation for the visitors but Laverstock already scoring goals this season were in no mood to let up.
Russ Jones bundled the ball home on 60 before Matthew’s long ball found Ollie Roe who crossed for Sykesy to score his first in four games. Ollie Roe almost got his first goal for the club, his effort rattled the bar only for the big man Sykes to tuck home the rebound.
There was still time for a hattrick on the night and it went to Jones, Harry Hale picked him out with a great through ball and he made no mistake to make it 7-1 to the Bulldogs.
