A live music venue in Salisbury has received substantial financial support in the second round of Arts Council grants from the COVID recovery fund.
The Winchester Gate has been allocated £77,962 of funding to support the venue and make changes to enable to adapt to current restrictions placed upon it by COVID-19 regulations.
There are plans to have an improved covered area in the garden and adapt parts of the inside areas of the pub to make them more ‘COVID secure’ as well as helping secure the future of the pub as a viable business.
Robb and Abi Blake, the landlords are blown away by the grant:
‘We applied for the grant not really thinking we’d get it. It’s unbelievable, its a game-changer. We are honestly astonished!’
They are the only venue in Salisbury to receive funding in this tranche of funding.
