Laverstock & Ford 4 – 0 East Cowes Vics

Lavvy continued their unbeaten start to the league campaign with a comprehensive 4-0 romp at a wet and windy Dell on Saturday.

Looking comfortable from the off despite the conditions worsening throughout the first half Lavvy cantered into a lead on 13mins, Sykes linking up with Jake Rawkins who smashed home the opener in clinical fashion. Rawkins had a chance to double his tally from the spot on 30, after picking himself up from being upended in the box his penalty was well saved by the East Cowes custodian. However, the Dell boys didn’t have long to wait for their side’s second, 3 minutes later Chae Sykes tucked his effort home. On 41 things went from bad to worse for the visitors Lovegrove’s cross was met by Jackson who teed up Russ Jones to smash home a half volley to cap a dominant first half for the Bulldogs.

Coming out in the 2nd half, Lavvy kept their visitors at bay despite the conditions worsening all the time their home goal was never in threat. Russ Jones capped a comfortable 2nd half show when Bourner played him through and he scored with ease. Matthews almost got his 2nd in two games but his effort was ruled marginally offside.

In the end, Lavvy got through this one unscathed and picked up another valuable three points.
