Assault in Amesbury – Appeal for Information

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Amesbury.

The incident occurred at approximately 4.40 pm on October 8 – a man in his 20s was walking along the pathway between Holders Road and Jaggard View when he was assaulted by a man who used a baseball bat to hit him several times causing bruising and cuts.

It is believed the suspect left the scene in a vehicle.

A man in his 20s from Amesbury has since been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 GBH with intent and released on conditional bail while further enquiries are carried out.

Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses to the incident – they believe the victim was approached by a child following the incident who asked him if he was ok.
