Army Flying Museum Want Knitted Helicopter Fleet

The Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop is calling for members of the community to help them create a squadron of mini helicopters.

Following the mini medal display the army flying museum is once again asking for knitters and crocheters to create more knitted and crocheted miniatures:

“We want people everywhere to get involved as part of our ‘Sky High’ art series of installations next year, which will also be involving embroidery and sewing enthusiasts to use our stories, collections and aircraft as inspiration for military inspired fashion jackets and a graffiti art project.

“We are inviting people to help create as many mini helicopters as possible to be displayed around our historic helicopters which range from cobra’s, lynx’s, gazelle’s and scouts!”

The closing date for mini helicopters is the 16th January 2021.

They can be any size or colour, the brighter the better!

For more information go to the Army Flying Museum website – https://www.armyflying.com/outreach/heroic-helicopters/

Completed helicopters can be posted to the museum whilst they are closed, or if you live locally to the museum you may wish to wait until we reopen after the national lockdown.
