Churchill Gardens will soon have an exciting new play unit, Salisbury City Council is delighted to announce.
The public were asked to pick their favourite play unit design from two shortlisted options on the Salisbury City Council’s Facebook page early in October 2020. Over 100 comments were made on the post with ‘Option A’ picked as the public’s preferred choice.
The new unit, designed by Proludic Ltd, is aimed at children aged 3 and over and is set to replace an old well-used unit which was starting to show its age. Much like the old one, it will be adventure boat themed and include a climbing net, slide and imaginative play among other things.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Liz Sirman, said:
“Good outdoor play areas are more important than ever for the children of Salisbury and I am delighted to see this equipment, chosen by the community, being put into place.”
Installation of the new play unit in Churchill Gardens is due to start on the week beginning Monday 14 December. It is hoped that the new pirate boat will be ready to play on during the Christmas holidays and will be enjoyed for many years to come.
