Toy Appeal Wants to Help More Families

Since launch, The Great Big Salisbury Christmas Toy Appeal has smashed every target that has been set. The festive community spirit is alive and well in South Wiltshire and West Hampshire, the support has been amazing.

It’s fantastic, but there are more families to help.

Children are still being referred via local charities, organisations and social services. The appeal is currently supporting 160 children by providing presents where they may have gone without this year, but we know of more and we would love to help them.

There is still time for you to help – so please, if you can make a donation. There are two easy ways to support the appeal but time is now running out as we count down towards Christmas.

You can make a cash donation via the Just Giving Crowdfunding page –

or you can buy a toy online and have it delivered to Santa’s Little Helpers who are working away for us at 1st Self Access Storage at Old Sarum (Unit,1a Castle Gate Business Park, Old Sarum, Salisbury, SP4 6QX REF: Xmas Toy Appeal).

Dan at Smyth’s Toy Superstore with the gift card for £400 as a donation to the Toy Appeal

You may have heard on Salisbury Radio or seen via our social media channels that yesterday a team from Require Consultancy and Salisbury Radio went shopping at Smyth’s Toy Superstore in Salisbury. This was to buy the first tranche of gifts for the children we have already committed to help. The team were given special early access by the store and helped by Dan Sanger and the team at Smyths as they dashed up and down the aisles picking out toys. The toys were then whisked away to storage by Ozweld International in their huge van so sorting could begin.

Smyths also went further and made a £400 contribution to the cause. The estimated total value of presents that will so far be distributed will exceed £7000, but we can do more.

The cut off for deliveries and donations is Monday 14th December.
