Salisbury FC still awaits the return of league football at the Ray Mac.
The Southern League, in which the Whites compete, was suspended as England entered it’s second national lockdown in November and is yet to restart.
Supporters were initially banned from grounds in Tier 3 with the league believing restarting wasn’t viable at this time.
The FA has since announced that updated advice from the Government allowing limited supporter attendance even in tier 3 areas.
The Southern League, along with the Isthmian, Northern Premier, have now announced they will make a further decision on the resumption of football following the governments’ announcement to any changes in the tier system on Wednesday, 16th December.
The league released the following statement:
The Trident Leagues (the Isthmian, Northern Premier and Southern Football Leagues) welcome the decision to allow some fans into grounds situated in Tier 3 areas. However, in light of the decision of all 224 Clubs only last week to vote overwhelmingly in favour of suspending the current season the leagues have decided to wait to see the implications of the Government’s review of the Tier system in England – due next Wednesday – before making any further announcements.
