Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Christmas at Salisbury Hospital has had to be different to normal with restrictions on decorations, visitors and many other activities.
So to bring some festive cheer to patients, staff and visitors, an extended Elevate Music Programme has been put in place to run every day and across weekends throughout December. Musicians can be found playing seasonal favourites in certain locations both inside and outside the Trust. These music sessions have kindly been funded by Stars Appeal.
Matron for Cancer, Claire Smith said “A stay in hospital can be a lonely and worrying time for patients, especially over the Christmas period. Music is great entertainment and also has proven therapeutic benefits. The music has been really beneficial to both staff and patients and has given everyone a boost and lifted their mood during this difficult time.”
