Salisbury District Hospital has reported five further deaths of patients that have tested positive for Coronavirus.
This brings the total number of deaths, following a positive test, at the hospital to 98.
A statement from the hospital said:
Sadly, we can confirm that a further five patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital have died. The total number of patients that have died at Salisbury District Hospital after receiving a COVID-19 positive test result is now 98.
One patient, a man in his sixties, died on 09th January,
Two patients, a women in her sixties and a man in his seventies, died on 10th January.
Two patients, a women in her eighties and a man in his sixties died on 11th January.
All had underlying health conditions.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients’ families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.
These deaths come as a sad reminder to the community to follow the rules of the current national lockdown and to consider whether any face to face interactions are really necessary.
