Huge Acts Announced for Salisbury Comedy Festival

Salisbury Comedy Festival have announced the two huge acts for their line up.

Mock the Week presenter Dara Ó Briain along with Frankie Boyle are the two main headliners for the event on Hudsons Field on Saturday 7th August.

They will also be joined by Dane Baptiste and Kiri Pritchard-McLean who will be familiar to comedy fans from the regular TV appearances.

There are up to 5000 tickets available for the event but organisers are also looking for volunteers to help with the event. Roles include stewarding, information support, welfare support and first aid. In return for your help, you will receive 4 free tickets to the festival, plus food and drink. There is a commitment of for 6 hours on the day, either 12pm to 6pm or 4pm to 10pm and you need to be over 18. 

Dara Ó Briain is best known for Robot Wars, Blockbusters as well as being the long-standing host of Mock The Week.

Frankie Boyle is a Scottish comedian and writer. He is known for his cynical, surreal, graphic and often controversial sense of humour.

Mock the Week regular Angela Barnes will also be appearing. Since winning BBC 2’s New Comedy Award 2011, Barnes has been a regular in the stand-up circuit, playing in ever bigger venues.

Dane Baptiste is hailed as one of the most exciting acts to break in years. In 2014 he made history, becoming the first Black British act to be nominated for an award at the Edinburgh Fringe for his debut stand up show Citizen Dane.

Kiri Pritchard-McLean is a Welsh comedian and writer. A well-decorated career has seen her win 5 chortle awards, as well as appear on Have I Got News For You and Russel Howard’s Stand-Up Central.

Salisbury Comedy Festival promised to offer so much more than comedy. They have partnered with local businesses to deliver a fully packed afternoon and evening of entertainment, including an inflatable park and funfair. Let’s not forget about the fantastic range of food and drink on offer. They are also raising money for the Stars Appeal.
