Salisbury Soroptimists On The Bra Hunt Again

Salisbury Sorpoptimists are on the hunt for pre-loved bras again this year.

In previous years they have collected bras for ‘Smalls for All’ a Scottish Charity which collects and distributes underwear to help women and children in Africa. The charity helps those living in orphanages, slums, refugee camps and schools, as well as providing underwear to hospitals to help those suffering from medical conditions like obstetric fistula.

You can help again this year. This sunny spring weather makes us all feel like having a spring clean! Are you giving all those cupboards and drawers a turnout? If you find some pre-worn but lightly used bras,  then please send them the way of Salisbury Soroptimists.

This is the fourth year Salisbury Soroptimists will be collecting lightly used bras to donate to ‘Smalls for All’ for shipping out to a variety of areas in Africa where, as the charity has found, bras give women dignity and self-worth.

Penny, the project team lead, says: “Since we started collecting bras for this worthwhile charity three years ago, a total of more than 2,800 bras have been collected from generous local ladies. Will you help us add substantially to that total this year?”

Please visit their website for more details at www.sigbi.org/salisbury or email sarumsoropts@gmail.com. Contact Penny Joyce  pennyre.joyce@gmail.com  for further information or to have your bras collected from your home.
