Polls are open today across Salisbury and South Wiltshire for local council and Police and Crime Commissioner elections.
The polls, which have been postponed by a year due to the coronavirus pandemic will close at 10 pm today.
In our area, you will be asked to choose a new Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon as well as a representative on Wiltshire Council.
In a large number of places, you will also be able to elect a parish councillor including in Salisbury where all 24 seats are available on the City Council. Some parish councils have fewer candidates than seats, so no vote will take place.
Voters are being reminded to take their face coverings, a pen or pencil to the polling booth and because of COVID-19 restrictions that are in place that queuing at busy times will be outside of the building and to wear appropriate clothing to do so.
Results in Wiltshire are expected to take a couple of days to be announced, with counting taking place over the next few days.
Due to the local count taking place at Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre some parts of the facilities will be affected until Monday. For more information follow the link to Wiltshire Council’s Website.
