Salisbury City Council Select New Mayor

At the first full meeting of the newly elected Salisbury City Council elected the new Mayor.

This is the first full meeting since the elections on Thursday 6th May. The council is now made up of 11 Conservative, six Labour and six Liberal Democrat councillors and one Independent. A change from the previous administration which had a heavy Conservative majority.

Caroline Corbin, a labour councillor representing Bemerton Heath Ward, was chosen as the city’s 760th Mayor. Her husband, Tom, will be Deputy Mayor and the Mayor’s Consort.

She was voted in unanimously by her peers.
