Salisbury Railway Station Adopted by Community Rail Partnership

The Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership has recently “adopted” Salisbury Station. This is a formal agreement between the railways and volunteers to help look after parts of the station.
In a statement they announced their plans:
Along with the local railway staff and management, we have many ideas about improving the station and initially wish to repaint and refill some platform planters, restock the Commemorative Garden on platform 5 and put up hanging baskets as quick wins.
Following that, we would like to put some artwork, tourism information or historic photos up in the waiting room and build some more planters in and around the station.
We are seeking volunteers or groups to help existing staff undertake these and other projects and provide basic maintenance on an ongoing basis. Any time provided would be on an ad hoc basis for as little or as much as you would like, so if you are interested in helping out as a station adopter please message or phone us.
We would also like to hear from you if you have local skills or supplies we could use including plants, compost, timber, planter building, art supplies, etc.
We look forward to hearing from you.
