The Winchester Gate to Host Family Theatre

Live music and arts pub The Winchester Gate in Salisbury is to begin hosting a programme of family shows.

Working in collaboration with local bestselling children’s author and illustrator Kristina Stephenson, the programme kicks off with ‘The Museum of Marvellous Things’, a stage adaptation of Stephenson’s latest book.  The show includes puppets, songs, movement, a live band and craft and is suitable for ages 3+.

The venue hopes to host many more events, suitable for families, in a bid to expand the range of activities available in Salisbury. Bar and Front of House Manager Jamie Lillycrop said “We’ve always been a family-friendly venue, but the one thing we’ve been missing is shows that can be enjoyed specifically by families with younger children. As we continue to expand and grow, with the creation of our multi-use arts space, The Tent, now seems to be the perfect time to try something new”.

The Museum of Marvellous Things takes place at 11 am (Doors open at 10:30 am), on Saturday 27th November. Tickets are available from thewinchestergate.com.  A range of family-friendly drinks and snacks will be available, including coffee and homemade cakes!
