For the second year running, The Great Big Christmas Toy Appeal is back!
The brainchild of Louise Howard of local recruitment firm, Require Consultancy, the Toy Appeal makes a return after huge success last year.
In its first year, the appeal delivered toys to over 200 children, purchased the entire Amazon wish list for Little Folly’s Children’s centre, gifts for children visiting loved ones at Salisbury Hospice and helped furnish a toy room at the women’s refuge with some wonderful new toys.
In total over £11,000 of toys were either donated or purchased with money donated by the very generous Salisbury public and businesses.
The Great Big Christmas Toy Appeal is organised by Require Consultancy with support from Love Salisbury and us here at mySalisbury.
All the things that made last years appeal so successful are back this year:
You can donate a gift by buying online and having it delivered to our own Santa’s workshop – our friends at 1st Access Self Storage have kindly agreed to hold all deliveries before distribution on the 15th December. Please send it to 1st Access Self Storage, Unit,1a Castle Gate Business Park, Old Sarum, Salisbury, SP4 6QX REF: Xmas Toy Appeal.
Or you can make a donation via our Just Giving Page – https://justgiving.com/crowdfunding/greatbigtoyappeal
Businesses can get involved too by purchasing a window in our advent calendar that will be revealed live on Salisbury Radio every morning before being shared on both Love Salisbury and mySalisbury’s website and social media accounts.
Andy Munns from mySalisbury.co.uk said, “Last year was such an amazing success that it needed no thought at all when Louise said she wanted to repeat the effort. I hope that we can exceed the number of toys that were distributed last year and I am really looking forward to grabbing as many toys as possible in the trolley dash.”
