Ormskirk stabbing: Teenager dies and 19-year-old injured as two people are arrested

Two men, aged 19, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in custody, following the attack in which another victim was also injured.

A teenager has died in hospital after a double stabbing in Lancashire.

Emergency services were unable to save the 19-year-old victim following the attack in Ormskirk town centre.

Another man, aged 19, was also taken to hospital but is not thought to have life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, two 19-year-old men have been arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in custody.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said officers were called to Railway Road at 12.05am on Saturday after reports of an “ongoing disturbance” involving “a number of males”.

They said: “A 19-year-old man from Liverpool and a 19-year-old man from Maghull have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

“They remain in custody at this time.

“A significant area within the town centre has been secured as a crime scene.”
