Police issue update after illegal rave near Cirencester

POLICE have issued an update following an illegal rave near Cirencester.

Officers were called shortly before midnight yesterday (Saturday 29 July) to multiple reports of an illegal rave taking place at Daglingworth Quarry, near Cirencester.

Around 150 people were already at the site.

The main entrances to the quarry were closed to prevent any further people from attending and those in attendance were appropriately warned about the dangers of the location and illegal nature of the rave.

Police continue to safely facilitate the departure of revellers and officers remain on site, engaging with those who are remaining.

Gloucestershire Constabulary is following the relevant policy and legislation to ensure the illegal rave is shut down safely.

Officers would like to thank the public for their continued patience as work continues to bring the event to an end.
