Fulham winger Willian has been targeted by Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab – just two weeks after he signed a new contract at Craven Cottage.

Willian committed his future to Fulham on July 17, signing a new one-year deal after an impressive first season at the club last year.

But he has already been approached by Al-Shabab over a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia which would reportedly double his current salary.

Fulham have not yet received any offers for Willian and it is understood that they would expect a transfer fee to be paid if the 34-year-old is to leave the club this summer.

After signing his new contract last month, Willian said: “I am completely happy. Happy to sign one more year with Fulham.

“Happy to continue the work that I did last season with all my team-mates and the whole club. I think it’s a club that can do even better this season, so I’m happy to continue this amazing adventure.”

The sudden rise to prominence of the Saudi Pro League has been a constant headache for Fulham this summer, with star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and head coach Marco Silva also receiving big-money offers in recent weeks.

Silva has rejected a £40 million proposal from Al-Ahli and committed his future to Fulham, but uncertainty remains over Mitrovic.

The 28-year-old has made it clear that he wants to make the move to Al-Hilal but Fulham have so far rejected multiple offers this summer. Mitrovic did not feature in any of Fulham’s matches on their pre-season tour of the United States.

Fulham have made two additions to their first-team squad so far this summer: defender Calvin Bassey has joined from Ajax in a deal worth around £20 million, and striker Raul Jimenez has signed from Wolves for around £5 million.

Fulham are interested in adding another winger this summer, with Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi known to be a target.
